Each US Embassy or Consulate has a slightly different process for obtaining visas. Most of the individual websites are pretty up to date...please consult the Embassy or Consulate for your area.

The International Center of Western Kentucky University suggests that you apply for B1/B2 visas. Your conference attendance could give them the "Visitor for Business" (B-1) visa. If you plan to stay a few extra days to visit, travel or shop, those activities are more appropriate for "B-2 - Tourist" visitors. Either one should be okay given the short duration of the event.

U.S. Department of State Website:

Please contact or if you need an invitation letter to submit with your visa application.

All cancellation and substitution requests must be sent in writing to WKU Continuing Education/ ISEIS registration at DELO. No requests for refunds will be accepted after July 10, 2006.

All cancellation requests received at ISEIS by July 10, 2006, will receive a full refund minus a 25% processing fee. After July 10, 2006, no refunds will be permitted. Request for a Letter of Invitation will be accepted until July 10, 2006. If you are unable to obtain a Visa or have any other travel related circumstances, the above policy remains in effect.

Conference Registration can be transferred for a nominal fee of $5. Transfer requests must be received in writing (by fax or email) before July 25th.
