The City of Xiamen

Xiamen, with the famous nickname "Sea-Floating Garden", is a well known harbor city in southeast China. Taiwan Straits flows between Xiamen and Taiwan. The distance between Xiamen and Gaoxiong is about 400 km. Xiamen is one of the five Special Economic Zones in China, opened to attract investment from all over the world. The world-famous island, Gu-Lang-Yu, is a pearl shining in the Xiamen Harbor. Xiamen University was founded in 1921. It is now making great strides towards its goal of "building a high-level university well-known both at home and abroad".
