Welcome to EWE'2012!
Rapid development and an increasing demand for natural resources and energy have taken their toll on the natural environment over the past few decades. Environmental pollution, water shortages, resource exhaustion, and ecosystem degradation afflict many areas. In an effort to respond to these challenges, innovative solutions to vast environment, water, and energy requirements alongside a strong commitment towards ecological protection and conservation have been at the forefront of development. EWE’ 2012 aims to bring together scientists, policy makers and practitioners at all levels of government, international organizations, and academic institutions to exchange and share their experiences and research results about all aspects of environment, water and energy, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted. The workshop will focus on the topics including environmental policy analysis, water resources management, sustainable development of socio-economy, energy supply and demands, climate change adaptation, pollution control technologies, applications of environmental informatics, and ecological assessment of environmental systems.
